Crystal Gayle Stone

Crystal Gayle Stone passed away peacefully at her home on May 1, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. After a courageous battle with ALS, she entered into eternal rest, leaving behind a legacy of strength, love, and unwavering devotion to those she held dear.

To know Crystal was to love her. She was a deeply compassionate woman whose warmth and kindness touched everyone she met. Above all, she was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a proud grandmother who cherished every moment spent with her family.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Newburn Sr.; her great-nephew, Emerson Tucker; her paternal grandparents, Martha and Voyde Newburn; and her maternal grandparents, Helen and Herbert Waggoner.

Crystal is survived by her beloved husband, John Stone; her son, R.J. (Shana) Hobbs; her treasured grandchildren, Sailor Hobbs and Grayson Reed; her mother, Judy Kilgore; her sisters, Terri (Charles) Newburn and Shannon Newburn; and her brother, Joe Newburn Jr.

She also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews: Joe Newburn III (Alyssa), Christian Newburn, Sabrina (Matt) Owens, Samantha (Reed) Tucker, Caitlin, Damion, and Jordan Newburn. She is further survived by her in-laws, Danny and Twila Stone; her brother-in-law, Danny Stone Jr.; and her sister-in-law, Lily (James) Eckhart.
