Joyce Marie Anderson, 75 of Havelock NC, passed away peacefully at home on December 7, 2025.

Joyce was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas before moving to NC in 2021 to retire with her family.

Joyce’s home was more than just a house—it was the heart of the family. It echoed with laughter, warmth, and the comforting aroma of something delicious always simmering on the stove. Cooking was not just a hobby for Joyce; it was her love language. From holiday feasts to everyday dinners and sweet batches of cookies made with care, she poured herself into every dish she prepared.

Her recipes were more than ingredients—they were stories told through flavor, memories stirred into every pot, and lessons passed down through generations. Each child and grandchild had their favorite dish that only Joyce could make just right—a testament to the personal touch she brought to everything she did.

With gentle hands and an open kitchen, Joyce created a space where everyone felt welcome. Her warmth extended far beyond food; it lived in every hug she gave, every story she shared at the table, and every moment spent gathered around her stove. Her legacy lives on not only in the lives she shaped but also in the meals still lovingly prepared from her handwritten recipes—each one a tiny piece of her enduring love.

Joyce is survived by her husband Richard Gerald Anderson, her son Jim, and daughter Hope; 2 sisters Georgia and Patsy and a brother, Charlie. Joyce has 9 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents Hoyt & Lillian; her son Hoyt; sisters Judy & Brenda and brother Rodney.
