Havelock

Sandra Dawn McCormick (Smith), age 64, of Havelock, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026, at the SECU Crystal Coast Hospice House surrounded by family and loved ones as she went to be with her Lord and Savior, and to be reunited with her beloved husband

Sandra was born on January 22, 1962, in Montreal, Canada, to the late William and Bernice Smith. She grew up in Montreal before later moving to North Carolina. Just a few months prior to her own passing, Sandra lost her cherished husband of many years, Edgar Louis McCormick.

Sandra lived a life defined by love, selflessness, and extraordinary kindness. She possessed a gentle soul and a pure heart; friends and family remember that you would never hear her speak negatively about anyone. Deeply dedicated to her family, she selflessly put her own ambitions on hold to be a stay-at-home mom, pouring her entire heart into raising her children and creating a warm, safe, loving home. She found joy in the simple, beautiful things in life. She was an avid reader, loved tending to her garden, and enjoyed riding her bicycle. A woman of deep faith, Sandra was a dedicated member of her church community and cherished her time in Bible study. Above all, she loved people and could often be found sharing a warm cup of coffee and a laugh with her husband and her dear friends.

She is survived by her children Roy McCormick; and her daughters, Elizabeth "Page" McCormick and her husband Zachary Martinez and Holly Jimenez and her husband Brian Jimenez. She was the proud grandmother to Penelope Jimenez, Felix Jimenez, Maximus Jimenez, and Veronica Jimenez. Along with her sister, Sharon Hepworth, as well as her three nieces, Sarah Tiessen, Jennifer Avery, and Kathleen Osborne.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Roy, and Bernice Smith; her beloved husband, Louis; her cherished grandson, Mason Steward; and her dear sister, Ruth Smith.
